Hello,
I work for TechSoup, and as part of the work we do to support nonprofits and public libraries in their efforts to use technology, we also focus our endeavors on digital inclusion work. Our newest project is a collaborative effort with WebJunction and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and is funded by the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
You may have heard about IMLS’ principles for Digitally Inclusive Communities. This project continues that work, but to do that, we need your help.
The project team would like to understand more about digital inclusion in your community—the level of awareness, the priorities for getting started or continuing existing efforts, and the challenges and successes encountered. We are seeking input from a variety of perspectives, including state libraries, public libraries, city/county/town managers, and community-based organizations. Your feedback will help to build a nationwide picture of the current state of digital inclusion, which will in turn inform the programs and supporting materials developed to advance efforts to help your community and others across the country. This assessment serves a purely public purpose and is not connected to any commercial enterprise.
The Digital Communities Needs Assessment survey will take about 15 minutes to complete, and we’d appreciate hearing about your work by Friday, March 9th.

Thanks so much for your input. Please contact me with any questions.
