Are unicorns real?? Is their proof to their existence?

I do believe that unicorns could have existed, and the magical fantasy of them started when someone saw one, but the government was not happy about this so they kept them a secret and took them into hiding. Now because they were with the government they could have done too many experiments which killed off the unicorns. Pegasuses couldn't have been real though, for there body weigh to much to be lifted off the ground.
