I am interested in Vardon's visit to America and The Spalding Years.
We, at Cirencester
Golf Club, Glos. UK are celebrating 100 years on its present site in
2010 and on May 5th 1910 there was an exhibition match between Braid
(who designed the course) and Vardon. I am compiling a supplement to
the 1993 history - the club started life 'in some old pastures'
belonging to Earl Bathurst in October 1893 and I complied the club's
history 1893 -1993, published in October 1993. We are having an
exhibition of golfing memorabilia in the town's famous (Roman-
Corinium) museum in May/June 2010 and will be soliciting help and
suggestions for such an occasion.
