BAA 3-TIER STRATEGIC INTENT ON FUNDING

Salutations from National Exco to all revered members of BAA, specially recognising the special cadres of BOT, CoPP, Branches and Sets Exco and the General Assembly.

A happy New year to you, your homesteads and endeavours.

It's been 7 months since our swearing in, and though you have experienced our style of leadership, especially in the area of funding, we figure that it would be nice at this point to define our approach.

The Daniel Committees have thrown up a huge needs vs capability gap.
Per the reports, we need a minimum of $5.2M (N3BN), whereas we have a "floor" capability (using Investment Banking lingo), meaning zero.

It is in this light that we chose the 3 - Tier Strategic Intent regarding Funding.

TIER 1

Since our swearing in, we have undertaken to fund all projects and pursuits till date, as Exco, and without recourse to the General Assembly.
This is to demonstrate our resolve to turn the Leadership corner and inspire the much needed confidence in our Exco.

We have capped such self sacrificial Exco-enabled undertakings at N10M, after which we enter.....

TIER 2

BAA Members Supported Fundraising.

In this stage is the bucket of Philanthropic BAA members contributing to BAA to ramp up the purse.
The Aaron and Hur Presidential initiative to which the response has thus far been encouraging, is one of such initiatives.
We are still making contacts with getting the clarion call to the rest of the named-but-yet-to-respond members of the shortlist.

Also upcoming, is the Donor's night, a recommendation from the BAA retreat of last year.

Scheduled for 26th March at the School premises, members are encouraged to participate massively.
The Fundraising Committee  Chairman, National VP, Rt Hon Mrs Addingi will be reverting with details.
Please note that for an event of this nature, teasers would suffice for the general public, while full information memoranda would be unveiled on-site at the event, to the Donor audience.
Teasers like the e-invite, projects intended, cost guesstimates etc should be coming in due course from the VP.

Still, looking at the figures from Strategic Committee, Scholarship Committee and Infrastructure Committee alone, we cannot realistically expect to close the funding gap from the two above alone, without recourse to...

TIER 3

EXTERNAL Sources
Yes we are proudly BAA, but live in the world amongst others.
We have been there for others, they should be there for BAA.
This can happen especially if we succeed in our intents in Tiers 1&2.
With confidence, we can then approach external in/out country donors and agencies for funding in currency or equipment.

Note that while the above are initial out of the box initiatives, we shall continue to rely on our accreting live wire which is member, branches and sets dues etc to cushion the funding spikes and ensure constant compensating funding balances.

In conclusion, let me reiterate that it is our intention to run BAA affairs purposefully and with integrity, so as to bequeath a BAA of  "Shared burden" and one in which BAA is for all and all is for BAA.

Let's feel you, feel BAA!

Happy Valentine's day to all BAA households!

Much love and respect,

Manz Denga,
