A question for Oliver: is Spamminess an absolute or relative quantity,
and what are its scientific units?

> A question for Oliver: is Spamminess an absolute or relative quantity,

I had to think about this one. In the end, I came to the conclusion
that spaminess itself is an absolute quantity. However, if you
remember that there is a universal gravitational constant, G, but
gravitational force varies depending on the mass of the objects
involved, so does the spaminess when spam meets people, depending on
how stupid they are, and hence how likely they are to believe the
email.

Therefore the SI unit of spam is the "can". However, you have to apply
the stupidity coefficient of the person reading it to work out whether
you have spam in that particular interaction. So for instance, a
normal person such as you or I would have a stupidity factor close to
0, and hence spam/stupidity (that's cans / (1/braincells/mm^3)) would
be fairly high - hence a high spam (or annoyance) factor. However, a
more stupid person with fewer than a braincell per cc (e.g. one who
really thinks Nigerians do want to give them money, or who might be
looking to alter the length of their thingy) would start to reduce the
spamminess of the email in their Inbox.

The can relates to other SI units in terms of metres (for penis
enlargement spams) and kg (for the weight loss ones). The "true spam"
from which all other spams are measured is displayed on a precision
designed monitor in a glass case (kept at constant temperature)
somewhere in Russia.

I hope that answers your questions.
