Announcement
We would like to make a final announcement regarding the Bristol Winter Conference. The conference will take place this weekend from Friday 21st December until Sunday 23rd December 2012. There will be live lectures and telelinks given by well-known Shaykhs and students of knowledge. The lectures/ telelinks will be a mixture of Arabic, English and Somali, throughout the three days Inshaa Allah. The conference will take place at:
Al-Baseera Masjid, St. Gabriels Road, Easton, Bristol, BS5 0RT
We encourage all of our brothers and sisters to attend and benefit from the conference!

Finally...
We leave you with a statement from the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) which illustrates to us the great benefits one gains from participating in gatherings in which Allah is remembered:
Abu Huraira reported Allaah's Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying:
“Allaah has mobile (squads) of Angels, who have no other work (to attend to, but) to follow the assemblies of Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah) and when they find such assemblies, in which there is Dhikr, they sit in them and they cover one another with their wings till the space between them and the sky of the world is fully covered.
When (the people) disperse (after the assembly of Dhikr is finished) they go upward to the heaven and Allaah, the Exalted and Glorious, asks them (although He is best informed about them): “Where have you come from?”
They would say: “We have come from Your servants upon the earth, who had been glorifying You (uttering Subhan Allaah), uttering Your Greatness (Allaahu-Akbar) and uttering Your Oneness ( La ilaha ill Allaah) and praising You (uttering al-Hamdu Lillah) and asking (invoking) You.”
He (Allah) would say: “What do they ask (invoke) of Me?
They would say: “They ask (invoke) of you, Your Paradise (i.e. to admit them into paradise).”
He (Allah) would say: “Have they seen My Paradise?”
They would say: “No, Oh Lord.”
He would say: “How would it be if they were to see My Paradise?”
They would say: “And they seek Your protection!”
He (the Lord) would say: “What do they seek My protection against?”
They (the Angels) would say: “From Your Hell-Fire, Oh Lord.”
He (the Lord) would say: “Have they seen My Hell-Fire?”
They would say: “No”.
He (the Lord) would say: “How would it be if they were to see My Hell-Fire?”
They would say: “And they seek Your forgiveness.”
He would say: “I have forgiven them, and I have given them what they asked for and I have granted them protection against that which they were seeking protection from.”
They (the Angels) would again say: “Our Lord, there is amongst them so and so, a sinful servant, who happened to be passing by (that assembly) and sat there along with them?!”
He (the Lord) would say: “I have forgiven him too. They are a people (that) those who sit with them will not be unfortunate (i.e. due to them being with them in the gathering)!”
[Hadeeth Reported in Saheeh Muslim]
Allaahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)! Amazing! That is the reward that awaits us if we take part in such gatherings!
