Hi peeps,

Trying to organise more ambitious events is a noble goal, but I'm not that naturally great at organisation. So to keep momentum going, I propose just having an informal meetup every other week to code in a pub.

I'm happy to turn up and sit at a pub table every other Monday and code on stuff, if anyone else turns up it's a bonus.

This is the kind of format I use for the Japanese conversation meetup, which has worked pretty well. I do that one on Thursdays at the Watershed, so any suggestions for another place with decent wifi? I don't want to push my luck with the Watershed by booking tables too often.

MixRadio chaps: when is a good November date for the Tommy Hall gig?

Would Cosy Club be any good? Because I kind of like the sound of "Cosy Club Clojure Coders".

OK, let's meet at the Cosy Club at 6 on Monday. If they don't have wifi, we can find someplace else.

Hi,

I’ve got a compojure website I’m working on as an experiment. I’m
hitting some problems with it and I’d appreciate a second pair of eyes
for a code review. Particularly mocking in midje, working with xml and
performance. Is that a suitable thing for tonight?

Certainly! I'm just trying to do some stuff in Om. Looks like it might just be us two, though.

I've not looked at Om since we did it at the meet up. I’d like to see
how you’re progressing with it.

Hi Matt

It was good meeting up last night.

Here’s the link to the Clojure from the Ground Up website that I
mentioned: http://aphyr.com/tags/Clojure-from-the-ground-up

Here’s the Last Programming Language talk by Uncle Bob:

And his most popular book Clean Code:

Looking forward to meeting again in two weeks,

Richard
