Great to finally meetup and have a chat!

The plan, to my mind, is to set the next meetup up for mid september for next meetup. Matt is away till then and that probably goes for vast swathes of people. So lets just keep our powder dry and arrange it far out.

The meetup format will follow the open space idea. We'll try and engage potential attendees before hand to create question or discussion points they are interested in, then we try to answer them. We'll also give people the opportunity for people to bring any code they are struggling with, these could provide seeds for conversation as well as well as being more concrete than perhaps the questions/discussion points will be.

Let's use this thread to mainly discuss ideas for getting people to come, change the website, start mentioning it to people. Maybe even set the event up on meetup, as that might reach out to the most people. Stuff like that.

Hi,

It was great meeting up on Tuesday.

Is anyone on Facebook? I'm not, but would a Facebook group/page be a good idea?

I'm on Facebook, I'll set up a page today. I'm also slowly going through the list of attendees of our first meetup and asking them for suggestions and explaining how we're going to change the format of the meetups.

It was great to meet up and have a chat. I think we discussed having Sept 17th/18th as the next meetup date?

Richard, I think using Trello was a good idea, I'll go back to that and jot some ideas down.

Hi _,

It was great to see you at our first meetup in March! We had a great turnout. Since then, we've had another couple of meeting, but haven't managed to build the same level as interest as for that first time.

We're considering changing the format to a more casual "office hours" style meeting, where people come and work together on their own projects and learning Clojure. Is this something you'd be interested in coming to?

Is there anything you would like to see in any upcoming Dojos?

Thanks,
Matt

OK, the Facebook page is at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bristolclojurians/. None of my Facebook friends would be interested, though. I'll try to find people from Meetup and add them.
