Mizzen Sail Cover Question

Hi,

For those of you with mizzens, how do you secure the mizzen sail cover at the furthest aft point? My way is to have one foot outside the pushpit with an arm wrapped around the mizzen boom, and then stretch to reach the last twist lock. My body’s been telling me that I need to find a different way. Any ideas that have worked for you?

That's been my way on S/V Sunrise until the last couple of years when I haven't been able to reach it and have to ask for help! I'm glad you still have your Bristol.  The years have caught up with me, and Sunrise will be on the market in a few months.  A wonderful chapter is coming to an end.  Hope all is well with you.

I usually close the aft most mizzen sailcover clip behind the mizzen sheet and let the cover slide back since the boat lies to the wind. There is a tie at the aft end of the mizzen sailcover but I could not possibly reach that.  Since we have a bird problem in our mooring field, i also have to rig bird lines on the main and mizzen booms. So now I rig an out and back clothesline to the aft end of the mizzen boom and tie the bird line and end of mizzen sail cover line to that and run it back.
