Hi Claudia,

If you haven’t paid for the boat yet, absolutely have the most highly recommended marine surveyor take a look. Then get any family or friends who have any level of boating knowledge to look at the boat with you. Someone who isn’t smitten will have a cooler view of the boat.

I didn’t follow my own advice of course. 🙄

I fell in love with and bought a ‘67 B39 and could have paid substantially less had I bargained harder. I’m now finding endless issues that the PO didn’t divulge.

That said I’ve had a fantastic season on the boat!

After 9 years, not being a marine mechanic, I’d suggest a complete engine tuneup - all filters, fluids etc. All new fuel as well of course, flush the coolant system, new belts, new impeller etc.  I’m sure others with more mechanical knowledge than I will have more ideas.
Cheers,
Rob

I am in the process of buying a 1967 Bristol 35.  It is a bit of a fixer at this point and has not been started in 9 years.

What is the startup sequence?
Any recommendations on batteries?

Thankyou
