to Bristol Yacht owners
Sorry for the double post but there may be someone not on FB that has the answer:

Trying to get Chloe documented. USCG says the B31.1 K/CB doesn't meet the minimum 5 net tonnes for documentation using the "Simplified method". Anyone out there have alternate documentation that proves the B 31.1 K/CB meets the minimum tonnage?

Hi,

We had a boat transported by truck (not our Bristol) from CT to FL and it
got damaged. The truck company is not cooperating and wont give us their
insurance information or even a Bill of Lading.

We've tried the police (they said the damage happened elsewhere not in
their jurisdiction). I'm not even sure exactly what state the damage
occurred.

Does anyone have suggestions? Or know of a lawyer we could consult?

Thanks,
Donna

Donna,
Sorry to hear of your boat damage and issues with transport company. Only assist I can be is to refer you to the either Wind Check or Points East..You can find them at any chandlery or west marine for free. One or both of them has a regular column by naval attorney who might be able to help.. thnks

Leave a group or unsubscribe from emails

If you no longer want to participate in a group or receive the group’s
emails, you have 2 options:

- *Unsubscribe from getting email from the group*—You’re still a member
of the group, but you no longer receive emails when there’s activity.
- *Leave the group*—After you take this action, you can no longer access
the group if it's not public.

Unsubscribe from a group

You can stop getting emails from a group by changing your settings or
leaving the group.

1. Sign in to Google Groups <https://groups.google.com/>.
2. Locate the group you want choose an option:
- To stay in the group but stop getting emails, under *Subscription*,
click the displayed optionselect *No email*.
- To leave the group and stop getting emails, click Leave group *Yes,
leave group*.

Problems leaving a group

If you’re signed in to a work or school account, you can't leave any group
that your administrator has set to include all members.

If you tried to unsubscribe from receiving any emails and still get
unwanted emails, try these solutions:

- Make sure you unsubscribed using the same email address that gets the
group emails.
- Check whether the emails are forwarded from another address.
- Make sure you’re not signed up for the group with more than one email
address.
- Make sure the group you've left isn’t nested in another group. You'll
continue to receive emails from the second group unless you leave it also.

Neil,
the sailboatdata site has the 31.1 listed displacement at 11,200 lbs, or well over 5 tons and just at 5, long tons (2240 lb/long ton)..
Didnt realize the USCG placed a minimum displacement on documentation, so had to re-read the 46CFR (section 67.9)..
Only reference i saw in the regs around "simplified method" was regarding title, so uncertain what this consists of relative to boat displacement.
