I'm really just posting this to check this thing works - thanks for
joining - I don't expect this to a particularly high-traffic list but
though it would make sense to have something that exists outside of
underscore as :-
a: Makes sense not to spam 300+ people on underscore for purely Drupal
related talk
b: Not everyone knows about underscore - i'm realising it more and
more recently, I kind of expect everyone in the area working with
websites and content management systems to know about underscore, but
in reality they don't, including a prospective client I went to see
yesterday who hadn't got a clue where to look for Drupal developers in
Bristol.
cheers

Indeed some people hate [_] with a (largely irrational) passion

Came across these folks recently:

Don't think they've ever ventured on to [_]
Cheers,
Christian
But the other day I whipped up a great little site with good
flexibility for the future and full CMS behaviour using Drupal. In
under eight hours(!).
So it looks like once you're past the learning bit it's a really,
really great bit of kit.

It's slightly scary to join this group knowing that most of you are
from [_]!!!
I used to post there many years ago but now only lurk to keep an eye
on what's getting people fired up and keep up to date with some of the
links like this very useful one. I'm Dave Moreton btw.

c not everyone maybe wants to post on [_]
while it's often entertaining you do see big fights over minor detail
that I for one don't have time for. Not to mention the periodic 'this
is better' 'no that is better' threads and it doesn't take too much to
imagine the "how do you best do X in Drupal?" ... "use Plone" type
posts
Hopefully this will be a calmer sidewater and maybe more on topic?
Fintan - I'm not sure you actually ever get past the learning bit.
We've put together about a dozen sites in Drupal now and each one
requires something that involves some additional learning... there's a
lot of modules out there and even more ways of using them :-)

There's a general Skillswap/ Underscore social on tuesday at the
watershed - come along!
