Orthere was an internet problem during the download.... may be a time out... During the night some internet providers closed the connection for a short time and start it then again... (Connection closed ...).

I followed the instructions in the HOW_TO_INSTALL_AND_ACTIVATE.txt file by moving the unzipped SAM folder to X-Plane/Resources/plugins.

With the activation of X-Plane 12 in the plugins, the SAM indicator appears but nothing more.

How can I do the installation correctly, some files must be uninstalled, or some files that prevent the correct installation must be searched. Please login to display this image.

Stairport has officially released the next major iteration to their Scenery Animation Manager (SAM), bringing the plugin to Version 3! To announce this release, Stairport took to their social media and the Aerosoft forums to show off the latest updates of their extremely popular plugin for X-Plane.

Scenery Animation Manager (SAM) has been a staple in the X-Plane community since the release of their major first add-on, World Jetways back in late 2019, and the release of SAM v1.1 earlier in the same year. Stairport has then recently gotten into the scenery business with products for both X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I tried SAM3 on XP11 and it worked temporarily, mostly at the 1st airport and by the destination airport it would have stopped - it unchecked itself from the plugin menu. But in 95% SAM2 worked - even on most "SAM3-airports". But I am a lousy updater, so I thought it was my problem, maybe missing important files that SAM 3 might need.

Now I have a brand new computer, Windows 11, updates, everything is fine, and I have XP12. It works great, looks great, super high fps, but SAM 3 does not work at all. It shows in the plugin menu unticked and if I try to switch it on XP12 crashes.

It is your system that has the problem as this is not an unusual configuration these days. Crash means little without a reason or error. This may be in the windows event viewer under microsoft application

If you come back with what is Content Manager? Then go back to step one and read the installation information, delete current sam install and install fresh. Don't forget the delete the SAM folder inside ../outputs/preferences. You will be required to provide purchase information again so be ready.

Remember I am just a user of SAM and attempting to help you fix but I believe 99% are fixable when repeating the installation when not all excited about your new technical skills. Removal is best sometimes but install over and replace when asked is okay for this.

Stairport could make a post with 1 minute that would provide clarification. Until they do I don'[t accept their excuse but I am in the mean time doing my best to teach the user how to fix themselves for simple configuration issues.

I think something might be corrupted with the Install. I was confused as the installation instructions says to unzip SAM3 in X-Plane's base directory. Should I erase it from plugins and start over is my question? It had been working all the while, but quit now.

The problem os:MAC. I am not a MAC user but there is plenty of additional documentation regarding installing on MAC to approve the application. So go back to the installation documents you have or Stairport help desk FAQ.

I have deleted SAM and the preferences and reinstalled it through the ORBX Central functionality. Somehow MacOs does not let me to run the macOS_remove_atrributes.sh. command from command line or iTerm.

With my Mac, the basic version of SAM 3 (dowloaded with an Aerosoft link) is turning correctly and two, and only two of its extensions (ground handling and follow me) are actually able to turn with X-Plane 12. With SAM 3 and the two extensions mentioned I have no problems to operate the Taimodels airports for example (they require SAM).

Personnaly SAM Ground Service is turning well with the Toliss planes except their new one. Try to find the SAM add-on on the Aerosoft forum ! Visibly it is a great numbers of SAM versions and some of them are not working everywhere.

What I did was to completely take SAM3 out of the system, then reinstalled. Now it usually works. Sometimes it does not work at all = the tick in the plugin list is unticked and when I klick it XP12 crashes.

In the latest X-Plane release (version 12.06), there appears to be an issue with SAM. When attempting to access the SAM3 Main menu, the X-Plane simulator freezes. Has anyone else encountered this problem after updating? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Nothing is generated in the Log.txt file.

I will try the workaround "2nd" later. For the "Simple don't purchase SAM3 add-ons!" , It doesn't work with unsuspecting individuals who are swayed by the promotional images of the addon and don't have time to read forum posts.

Problem is XP12 shutdown hang and crash usually with an addressing exception. Makes my mind think that data has been trashed with something else maybe using an object that doesn't exist or has changed. This all started suddenly.

I am suggesting setting loglevel to 0. This is what I found on the internet is the debug level. This setting is found in X-Plane /Output/Preferences/sam and named sys.json. Haven't tested this loglevel as flying. There is one setting in sys.json that interests me "xpObjClearCacheBeforeLoad": false and I am thinking of at least trying this option if this needs to be cleared once at least with all the xp12 updates.

I am using Toliss A321 but I suppose it could happen with any aircraft. I start at MPTO 03R with engines running and throttle set to 1/4 power just to cause the aircraft to move. As soon as possible after starting flight, release the parking brake.

How this came to my attention was that I have been experiencing this freeze when entering the departure runway. I have already spent 20 minutes loading the A321, pushback, taxi. However, at random times I get clearance and I am pulling onto runway and bam X plane freezes. This has been going on for a some time.

I use my restore points that I now take with Toliss, Ready to push, Ready to taxi, Ready for Departure etc that allows me to restore the flight and get going. Not a great solution but keeps my sanity.

I am going to run without Worldjetways for the moment at the loss of SAM jetways for world airports but I can live with this for the sake of reliability. This won't affect airports that have SAM jetways installed.

X plane gives the spinning icon and cpu/gpu drops to almost zero usage. I do find X plane using about 4% of my cpu so not completely dead, doing what I don't know but not respoinding to me. If you click on X plane it stops my whole system for a few moments and then the End task prompt from windows appears or the X plane close/wait for program prompt appears. I find when this happens don't touch X plane if possible and just use taskmgr to kill X plane.

I decided to post once this became reproducible as I have been seeing posts of X plane freezing often on here and maybe this is the cause for you. Is this the only cause of X plane problems? No. Groundtraffic is another that can cause issues but I am starting to think that groundtraffic hasn't been the cause of all of the problems but worldjetways instead.

I've had the same issues with SAM, including having to use the task manager to shut down X-Plane. I disabled it altogether in xOrganizer and haven't had any problems since. I use a 4 seasons python script for seasons, SFD Global and simheaven_vegetation_library for forests, and a Ground Handling plugin when I need it. Since I mostly haul cargo I don't need a jetway. There might be another plugin out there somewhere for jetways if you need it.
