I missed the Celebration of Life - both of them. My daughter, who
lives in Colorado, needed me to help with the kids while her husband
was out of town. With three kids - 4, 3, and 10 months - she did need
the help. So there I was, in Paonia, Colorado, a town without a stop
light, but my heart was at Franklin School on Saturday. I can only
imagine the sadness, the love, the laughter, the tears, the stories,
and the impact Dominic's life had on everyone there. Seeing the
photos helped. I know the love in that room was enough to lift Don
and Jane and Amy and Scoob and Mattie, at least for a while. So I
guess I just wanted to check in here one last time since I didn't get
to celebrate with everyone. And I wanted to thank Marshall one more
time for his endless effort and devotion. I know the experience has
changed his life profoundly - how could it not? Marshall, you are the
best.
