Hi Horia,

I recently joined HP’s Office of Global Social Innovation.  One of my responsibilities is to manage our fledgling partnership with Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK).  In a nutshell, RHoK organizes hackathon events where developers create apps for good.  An upcoming hackathon focused on climate change and disaster risk management is slated for June 4 and 5 in cities across the globe.  Attached is a synopsis of the program.  Please also find an introductory email summarizing the program below.  Any help you can provide in raising awareness for the events would be much appreciated.  Please let me know if I can answer any questions.  Thanks for your consideration.

Regards, Marlon

Call for all HP engineers, developers, designers,…

HP recently joined Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, NASA, and the World Bank as a Global Partner for Random Hacks of KindnessRHoK host Hackathon events which bring together the best and the brightest hackers from around the world to solve real-world problems. The next Hackathon is slated for June 4th and 5th in cities across the globe including Bangalore, Nairobi, Seattle and Mountain View.  At the last round of hackathons in December, there were over 1400 participants in 25 cities around the world, and the NYC event was honored by a keynote from UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.

In the past, RHoK has brought together software developers and crisis response experts to build open source software for disaster risk-reduction, preparedness, and response.  This time, the subject area is expanding to include climate change, so we'll also be looking for hacks around climate adaptation and related topics.

To register to attend your local event, visit http://www.rhok.org/blog/rhok-3-june-4th-and-5th

Please help us spread the word by forwarding this to anyone you think might be interested... inside and outside of HP.

We look forward to hacking for humanity with you!
