Healthy kids lunch box recipe ideas for indian recipes. Delicious and nutritious lunch box and snacks box for kids. Making and packing lunch for kids is the hardest part. Kids can be very picky eater. Specially maha is too much. When I started this series of showcasing kids lunchbox on my blog. I had to be realistic. Also if you are looking for baby food recipes, check it out.

In this post I have shared oven 60+ lunch box recipe for kids. This lunch box is inspired from mostly south indian, north indian and easy to put menu. Rice is a staple so mostly you would be seeing variety rice, sandwiches, idli, curries. Every kids lunch box would include carb, protein, fruits and vegetables which make the lunch box healthy and wholesome.

Indian lunch box usually consists of some kind of roti, rice, sabzi, dal and protein. There are thousands of idea on packing kids lunch box. You can pack it as per their food preferences and their likes and dislikes. I like to pack easy to make and simple meals which they enjoy eating.

Packing lunch box can be really fun if you get the hang of it. In some schools they offer lunch at school. But I like to pack my own lunch for my kids. Even though there are tons of ideas all over the internet. I like to keep it simple and pack only food which my kids enjoy eating.

During busy mornings it has to be easy on time to make and pack lunches. This is one such lunch box. A simple lunch which I packed for maha. Peas pulao and boiled eggs in her lunch box. Boiled peanuts on her snacks box.

For making waffle cheese sandwich. I just put some grated mozzarella in between bread slices and toasted them in sandwich maker. Making sandwich in waffle maker will give you this lovely pattern. Which kids will love it.

I sauted some finely grated beetroot in a tsp of ghee for few mins. Add it to curd rice and mix well. Now attractive curd rice is done. Curd rice itself has not much nutrients so addition of beetroot makes it more colorful and healthy.

For chutney. Grind, tomato, garlic, a small piece of beetroot, chilli powder, salt and some sugar. Heat oil and temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and asafoetida. Pour chutney in and boil for 5 mins.

Rasam sadam with potato varuval in her lunch box. Always make rasam rice liquidy so it taste best during lunch time. Bauli moonfills from @bauliindia and cranberries in her snacks box. I make rasam rice very runny and I don't have to worry about the rice getting cakey.

This is how I make paneer butter masala in 10 mins. This is how I made PB masala. Grind tomato, chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala pdr, salt, sugar till smooth. Heat butter and add cumin seeds. Add tomato mix and cook for 3 mins. Add in paneer and cook for 2 mins. kasuri methi leaves and cream. Mix well. Done.

For carrot rice, cook rice and set aside to cool down. Heat ghee, add in a small piece of cinnamon, cardamom and fennel seeds. In goes grated garlic and mix well. Add in grated carrots and saute for 3 to 4 mins. In goes chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder. Add salt and mix well. Add cooked rice and mix well. Serve.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add onions , carrots, beans and saute for 2 mins. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for another min. In goes chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder and some salt. Basmati rice goes in and paneer. Pour water. Add 2 cups water for 1 cup of rice. Bring it to boil and boil for 3 mins till most of the water is gone. Cover and pressure cook for 1 whistle. That's it.

Lemon rice and beans poriyal in her lunch box. Boiled peanuts on her snacks box. Lemon rice is a easy and great option to pack in your kids lunch box as it stays good for a long time. Beans is rich in fiber so it is very good for us. Boiled peanuts is a healthy snack which is rich in antioxidants.

FOR ALOO PARATHA: I just added little bit of chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, salt and garam masala powder with boiled potatoes. Mashed well and stuffed into chapati dough and made paratha.

Veg fried rice with carrot, beans is for lunch. On her snacks box, it is egg sandwich which I grilled in the sandwich toaster. Just an egg omelette placed inside two slices of bread which has a little mayonnaise applied.

This is how I made fried rice. Saute some chopped onions and garlic in some butter. Add carrot, beans along with salt and little bit of sugar. Saute for 3 to 4 mins. Add in soy sauce and mix well. Add in cooked rice and toss well. In goes black pepper to taste and mix well. Done.

Curd rice with grated carrots, carrot fry made as maha's preference and her all time fav garlic pickle. Apples and banana on her snacks box. Mix some lemon juice or honey with apple to prevent them discolouring. Got up a little late so made curd rice as it is the easy thing to do. Hiding carrots or little grated cucumber is curd rice is a great idea and make curd rice taste amazing.

I added little finely grated carrots to the idli batter and made mini idlies. I greased the idli plates with little ghee so the idlies don't stick. Put few plain mini idlies in the lunch box too.

Maha likes idli podi so for dipping I gave her that. Again quails egg is maha's favorite. quails egg are high in vitamins and minerals than regular eggs. so it is a great food to include in your kids diet.

Egg rolls are a great way to pack eggs in lunch box. Since omelette can be hard for them tear and eat. Also boiled eggs can get boring sometime. This omelette stays together well and it is like a mini bite.

Potato patties is very easy to make. I peeled one small potato and grated it. Then add salt, pepper, oregano and some cornflour. Mix well. Heat a pan with some butter, spoon some of the mix and spread like a patty. Cook till golden on both sides.

Chapati, Paneer Butter Masala & Chocolate Cupcakes. This will be your kids favorite lunch box of all the time. Eeach and every kids loves paneer butter masala and roti. Maha's lunch box today is chapati with ghee on top and 10 min paneer butter masala.

Homemade chocolate cupcakes and cashews on her snacks box. This lunch box is one of her favorite as she loves chapati and paneer. It is packed with fiber and calcium. Paneer is very good for us especially growing kids as it is rich in calcium which makes them strong.

Rasam makes a great lunch option. But one thing you have to do is when mixing rice with rasam make it more runny, Because at the time of lunch, rice would have absorbed all the rasam. So it might turn hard. Recipes here : Rasam, Ladies finger fry

Cook some basmati rice with little salt and turmeric added. Set aside to cool. I stir fried garlic in some butter. Added beans, capsicum and carrot in it and sauted for 2 mins. Then added in cooked rice with some salt and pepper. This is packed with carb, protein and vitamins.

Banana chapati, Scrambled eggs, Potato Tots & Popcorn is in this lunch box. I have added simple kids friendly potato tots recipe in this. It is fast, easy and quick potato dish which kids will absolutely love it for sure. Instead of frying, you can try air frying it as well.

For potato tots or tater tots. Peel and grate a potato, squeeze out extra water. Add salt and oregano. Shape into small ball tightly. Fry in oil. This lunch box is filled with Fiber, protein, carb, antioxidants and fat

Today's lunch box is Spinach carrot chapati, Boiled egg and Homemade ketchup .For snacks Andhra murukku & Friday treat peanut m&m's snack size. She loved the chapati yesterday so made the same today. I sliced carrots into triangles and placed over boiled eggs as ears and mouth. For eyes I place two small whole black pepper. Tried to make a pig out of egg.

I am trying to make maha eat wraps. So it will easy for me to put any filling inside roti so it will make a filling meal. This is my first experiment, I put a simple egg omelette inside and rolled. I made egg omelette by beating one egg with salt and pepper. Then cooked omelette in a spoon of butter. She needs something to dip for sure. So I gave her my homemade Eggless mayo. French fries is her all time favourite. I know she will finish that. Maha enjoys raw carrot than cooked ones.

I added grated beetroot to boiling water and then strained the liquid. Then used the hot liquid to make the dough. I mixed regular idiyappam and beet idiyappam together to make it more appealing. Again quails egg is high in nutrition than regular egg and it looks cute. I want her to finish the lunch box, so I put few m&m's as a bribe.

I added carrots, capsicum, tomatoes in the pasta sauce. You can any veggies you have into the sauce, they will never find it. The pasta itself is very creamy and yummy. I made the muffin yesterday. It has lots of veggies in them too. I am sure whether she will like it or not. So I put some orange pieces in the lunch box. This lunch box is packed with nutrients from veggies, carb, fat and vitamins from oranges.

Healthy and easy beetroot idlies which looks so colourful. This is a great recipe to put in your kids lunch box. Today's lunch box Beetroot mini idli aka pink idlies and Paneer bites with some ketchup. Recipe which is linked, i used tofu. You can use paneer instead of tofu.

A kids friendly soya chunks fry which is so tasty and also very healthy for kids. Super quick mayonnaise sandwich which is my kids favorite. This is a awesome sandwich to put in kids lunch box too. This meal is rich in protein, vitamins, carb and fat.
