This is extremely frustrating, but I think I'm going to have to stop this group as the "official" BrightstarDB users group. I've just discovered that Google no longer recognizes my admin privileges on this group which means I have no ability to manage the group or the discussions on it. As far as I can see there is no way to reset or reclaim admin privileges and Google provides zero help on this matter and provides no way to report the problem. So, thanks Google...
I do take the community around BrightstarDB seriously and I want us to have the best possible forum for discussion within the somewhat restricted budget I have available. I hate the fact that this would be the second move of the group in less then 12 months, but without proper admin controls over the group I feel that there is a danger that this group is open to getting spammed and becoming useless. I would rather inflict pain now while the project is still young and not too much history gets left behind than wait another year and have to leave a whole lot more behind.
Given this problem seems to have no resolution path, I'm not really comfortable with just creating another Google Group, but the options are:
1) Create another Google Group and move the discussion over there.
2) Use the discussion forum on our CodePlex group (
brightstardb.codeplex.com). This would be nice as it would tie together the binary distribution and the discussion group.
My preference is (2), but if any of you have other thoughts or opinions about this please voice them in this thread.
Cheers
