Here is request initiated by Dorothy.M.Murdock (Acharya.S) from U.S to support the movement " Abolish blasphemy laws.

As you all know, she is one of the eminent rationalist across the globe.

She has already taken great effort to gather the support for Mr.Sanal Edamaruku recent years,along with James Randi, Richard Dawkins etc.. (In one of her previous mails to me,she informed us that,all main stream american rationalists will be along with Sanal)

Here is a petition started by Australian writer Michael Sherlock to ensure freedom FROM religion and barbaric blasphemy laws:

Note that I edited the letter which will be delivered to the United Nations high commissioner for Human Rights, and my name is appended to it.

So far, Michael's managed to get very prominent signers such as Richard Dawkins, Pat Condell and Ricky Gervais. Other notables include Christians, so this isn't a matter of human rights just for atheists and other secularists. It applies to persecuted religious minorities as well, wherever they may be.

Please consider signing the petition and circulating it to your networks so that we can create a bigger groundswell of support. There are thousands of unfortunate people globally suffering right now because of these brutal and inhumane laws, such as Saudi apostate blogger Raif Badawi, who has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and 1000 lashes for his disbelief in Islam.
