So, R-Pi with a 1A wall-wart can't handle an Arduino Mega :(

What's the cheapest powered USB hub you know is decent and reliable?

Ta!

I used to recommend one from PC World, but it would seem they no longer list it, except possibly in bright pink. My back up recommendation would be the four port powered hub from Belkin. Possibly not the cheapest, but definitely reliable.

Neil.

Hi Mike,

The PSU rating I use for my Pi is 5v @ 1200mAh
The PSU rating for my powered hub is 5v @ 2000mAh
On the powered hub's usb lead I needed to cut the red wire so to make independent from the Pi as it was drawing power from the Pi as well it's PSU. (Prob cheap bad design) It's also on the don't work list (in my case cut red wire, it now works)

You can check this list on elinux, org http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#Powered_USB_Hubs for ones that work

Chris
