My name is Arthur and I am currently looking to get some work experience in
a Web development company in Brighton.
I have been designing websites for fun and money for some time, but only in
my spare time. I have a degree in Electronic Engineering, but I am
interested in pursuing a career in web development instead.
Because I have never programmed and developed in a team environment before I
would like to see what it is like before I start looking for a job.
If anyone works for, runs or knows of a company in Brighton that may be
willing to have me come in for a few days and see how websites are designed,
built and tested as part of a team I would really appreciate it.
Thank you,
Arthur Guy

You're welcome to come and work from The Skiff for a couple of days.
We're not a single web development team but many of us work together
on projects and work as members of geographically distributed teams.
Web teams are increasingly made up of collections of independents /
freelancers like ourselves and it works so well we think it won't be
long until most people work this way.
Your website and portfolio are in a better state than many people I've
met starting out as freelancers, I'd encourage you to consider a
career working independently rather than seeking employment. If you're
not already planning to I recommend you spend Thursday afternoon at
the WiredSussex Media Jobs & Skills Fair:
http://www.brightonjobfair.co.uk There will be a good mix of people
there, loads of freelancers to talk to and I'm sure you'll be able to
persuade some of the more traditional businesses to let you join their
teams for a day or two.
Best,
Jon
