Anyone recall any of those for-fun sites that scrape a given url and return
a new version of the page with certain words and/or images swapped out?

that's what I was fearing... meat

I was alerted to www.cornify.com which is also an 'overlay' site and it
reminded me of a site many years ago (like about 10 years ago!) that swapped
all words beginning with B for 'blasphemous' and a few others whilst
retaining the presentation of the original site - it was examples like these
I was looking for rather than any sneaky temptation out of my long standing
vegetarianism....

Depending on what you're trying to do, Matt Round (who wrote the
lolinator site) has a few blog posts about it:

http://www.malevolent.com/weblog/archive/2008/03/10/lolspeak-php/
http://www.malevolent.com/weblog/archive/2008/05/05/caching/
http://www.malevolent.com/weblog/archive/2007/11/02/lolinator/

And a few others if you do a search on his site.

Cheers

Paul (and hello Matt when you find these links ;-) )
