Subject: Help needed with Android App
To:
in...@radicalrobot.co.ukHi Emily,
I need some help with implementing an Android app for blind users and was wondering if you might be able to take this on.
Roughly, the functionality would be: user takes snapshot with phone, app sends snapshot to server at Brighton Uni (ubuntu), snapshot is displayed to human operator who types in message which the app sends back to the user's phone where it's read out by the phone's native text-to-speech.
Issues are how to design the user interface in a way that suits blind users, how to enable multiple users and multiple operators to interact, etc.
This would hopefully lead to a larger funded research project on image description for blind and partially sighted users.
The work itself would have be done some time over the next 2 months or so.
What do you think?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers,
Anya
