Hi guys,

I wanted to make some sloe gin this year and was wondering if you guys now where to find the lovely sloes around Brighton and Hove?
Some forums mention The wild park, Stanmer or Falmer - have any of you found a good place?
I was thinking of taking a hike this weekend - so any help would be appreciated :)

Thank you in advance :D

Nina,

I found a good supply up at the top of Braypool Lane in Patcham. They
weren't as plump as I've seen them in previous years but they did the
job.

Should still be some there.

Kind regards,

Rob.

The best spot for sloes that I've found was actually en route to Middle Farm.  A bit out of the way for foraging, but... it's Middle Farm!! (Plus the train ride to Glynde is cheap if you do the 4 people for the price of 2 deal...)  We got so many last year that we made sloe gin and even reserved some sloes for a hedgerow wine which turned out to be more like port...
