There's another awards that Thornbridge (the Dark Star of the North) are running. I think I posted a link to it on here a while ago. Shall we develop one beer and enter it into both competitions?

Maybe we could all make one beer each and then have a tasting session and say how we'd improve it?

Hi Guys,
I finally got around to using my bottle corking machine today, which worked great. However the cork instructions say rinse in water to remove dust, so I did. My only concern is the machine squeezes the cork so much a small amount of brackish fluid is exuded from the cork. I’m slightly concerned as to what effect this might have. Anyone used this kind of thing as described above before?

I also bottled some elderberry wine today. The action of sucking it through the siphon tube and spitting out the mouthful of wine you get left my mouth quite numb for a while. Tastes nice though, proceed with caution!

All the best
Ed
