Hello all,
Last night we were lifted by our community remembrance of Ernestine Solomon and the Inspirational work of the artist/creators in our community. The music from the Jacqueline Girls was written for us, the room was festive, the food was great and Allegra Printing did us a big solid producing our hand outs. A special moment was the visit by our Councilman, Council President Pro Tem James Tate and his reminder that he needs our input for the Brightmoor Framework DRAFT. Visit him today Friday at his community office hours 11a Motor City Java House and Saturday at 21630 seven mile and Lahser, Empowerment Zone.
Special thanks to Ernestine's family who came to celebrate the Wonder that was Ernestine.
But the highlight was the work of Brightmoor Creators all of whom were either born the year we were founded or were infants. They were the perfect metaphor of what can be done with 25 years investment.
Ty Ross (our other two focus artists could not attend) presented her original work and spoke on behalf of her two contemporaries. We will be posting samples of their work over the weekend at
www.brightmooralliance.org.
Finally we, the nearly 70 people in attendance agreed in unison that we can achieve our comeUP. That with the investment of our time, work and valuing ourselves we can, like our artists, achieve great things. Adding to the case was Andrea Junior's and Lamar Curry's recent certifications showing investment works for all ages.
Thank you all for believing in Brightmoor and the limitless possibility of the UP side. Start working on your household business plan as part of the COME uP! We will meet next month to help you build them.
Brightmoor uP from the infant uP!.
thank you
