Dear Neighbors,

As you may recall, on October 30, 2025, we sent out a request (see below) to all BLV residents for a voluntary contribution of $125 per household to help maintain the two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in our neighborhood and support other ongoing expenses related to BLV’s participation in the Neighbors Saving Neighbors (NSN) program. Your generosity helps keep our neighborhood safe and ensures we can continue to participate in this important initiative.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to all families who have already contributed. Your support makes a real difference. For those who have not yet had a chance to participate, we encourage you to send or hand deliver your check in the amount of $125, payable to Steve Beckett, our NSN Coordinator, at 1478 Brier Creek Circle.  To help us plan and maintain the equipment effectively, please send your contribution by January 15th.

We appreciate everyone who supports our neighborhood in various ways, and together, we can ensure the safety and well-being of our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

Steve Beckett
NSN Coordinator

Dear Neighbors,

In 2013, the residents of Bridgeport at Laurel Valley met at Laurel Manor to discuss joining the Neighbors Saving Neighbors (NSN) program. This lifesaving initiative ensures that, upon a 911 call reporting a cardiac arrest, trained Responders receive automatic notification and can promptly administer CPR or use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) until fire rescue personnel arrive.

Thanks to your enthusiastic support, BLV families have participated in this vital program since its inception. We deeply appreciate the generosity shown over the years:

- In 2013, each household contributed $125 to purchase and maintain two AEDs and enroll our Responders in the NSN Ready Alert telephone system.
-  In early 2020, each household provided an additional $85 to maintain program funding.
- Now, six years later, the BLV NSN program’s bank account is running low, and we kindly request a new contribution of $125 per household to sustain and enhance our lifesaving resources.

Your past contributions have made a tangible difference, and every household’s support truly matters. The funds raised will cover AED maintenance, training for new Responders, and continued integration with NSN Ready Alert.  Please consider continuing your support of BLV’s participation in the NSN program and mail or deliver your contribution to Steve Beckett in the amount of $125 at 1478 Brier Creek Circle (telephone 352-552-2501).

BLV is fortunate to have 13 dedicated Responders: Steve Beckett, John Cilento, Dan Davis, Bill DeLuccio, Dave Mays, Mark Rosow, and Jerry & Mary Tucker are experienced in CPR and AED use. Additionally, Nancy Agnew, Vinny Guarino & Kim Slavin, and Louis & Diane Jordan have recently volunteered to join and are awaiting training. We warmly invite and encourage more neighbors to consider becoming Responders—your involvement could make a lifesaving difference.  If you are interested, please contact Steve Beckett at sbe...@comcast.net or 352-552-2501

Together, we make BLV a safer place for everyone. Thank you for your continued commitment, generosity, and involvement. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or feedback about the NSN program. Everyone’s participation matters and helps protect our community.

With sincere appreciation,

Steve Beckett
NSN Coordinator
