Quick setup help

Hi everyone,

I love the project and am very interested into using it but I do not have any experience using maven or any other java compiler. Could someone help explain to me how I can set up the database for human gene queries?

I currently am working on a data loading program in python and it would help a lot if I could use the rest services to query gene names.

Any help is very appreciated.
