Dear list,

I got a report from BioCatalogue that the BridgeRest service is currently failing. I'm not up-to-date with the current state of BridgeDb. Could somebody look into this? Perhaps the BioCatalogue registration is out of date and needs to be adjusted.

regards,

Martijn

Hi Martijn,

this is because of UM having been hacked and the UM core systems are suffering from ransomware. This doesn't affect our BiGCaT servers, other than that most of the UM network is decoupled from the internet.

1. the webservice is working fine (and actually has been running on Amazon for 1-2 months now)
2. the website *front* of the webservice, with the OpenAPI interactive documentation is on our server and is down

So, the report you got is because http://webservice.bridgedb.org is failing. But that's the front end.

We have set up a 503 page here: https://bigcat-um.github.io/backupMessages/

It's been unclear when the network is opened again, but they are hoping for the first week of January. We did tweet info already, but had been hoping it got solved earlier.

Egon

Hi, do you like citation networks? Already 51% of all citations are available available for innovative new uses. Join me in asking the American Chemical Society to join the Initiative for Open Citations too. SpringerNature, the RSC and many others already did.
