It has been an exciting two months since we release Bridge back in June. Over 100 million messages have been sent through the Bridge Cloud and the Bridge Server has been downloaded by countless developers. Today, we have even more exciting news.
Though the client libraries have always been open-source, the Bridge Server was released under a proprietary, binary-only license until today. But after many requests from the community, we are proud to open-source the Bridge Server under the MIT license! You can find the source here :
https://github.com/getbridge/bridge-server-src .
We understand that trusting Bridge as your project's messaging infrastructure is a big decision. Being open-source guarantees the community transparency into the development of Bridge and allows the community to help maintain it.
The Bridge community has been amazing with bug reports and pull requests for the client libraries. We look forward to the same level of contribution with newly open-sourced Bridge Server. Happy hacking!
**P.S. This announcement does not affect Bridge Cloud, which will remain operational. Any changes in service to Bridge Cloud will be made in seperate announcements.**
