Good Day All:
Please find attached a public notice sent to me by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality regarding an upcoming meeting next Monday in St. Paul. As we know, there are some, mostly non-residents, who would like to see this facility not built. In fact, they do not wish to see any more coal-fired power plants built and that the the need for new power generation would be solved through conversation and switch to renewables.
I think this position is terribly short-sided. We need to embrace coal and the energy it produces. Furthermore, it's through environmentally responsible companies such as Dominion do we have the greatest chance of finding environmentally sustainable solutions to our national energy needs. Necessary energy to drive our economy.
The purpose of this e-mail is to encourage you to come and participate in the meeting on December 10 in St. Paul. There will be a presentation in the Auditorium of St. Paul High School beginning at 7:00 P.M. There will be a session in the St. Paul Elementary School play room from 4:00 to 6:00
P.M. for opportunities to ask questions one-on-one.
Please come out and show that Wise County and the region supports this important project! PLEASE pass this along to those individuals in your contact list who feel the way you do.
Best Regards,
Skip
