Big Stone Gap's about due for some fun, so shake a leg at the dance this Friday, March 14!! Featuring live music with Celtic band Sigean, this ceilidh includes circle and couple dances, and performance spots for all storytellers, singers and musicians. Meet at the bookstore at 7 p.m. and we'll adjourn to the church (three doors down) after basic instruction. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes. Refreshments are free; bring something to share if you like.
Kids can make an Easter ornament here noon-2 p.m. Saturday, March 15. CLOTHES WARNING: Glue and glitter !!!
India Night, featuring Thamil Ramakrishnan and friends, is being moved, probably to Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. We just learned there is to be a benefit concert for Big Stone Gap here the night we originally scheduled, so we're rescheduling with Thamil; she's with family just now so stay tuned for the exact date. You don't want to miss Thamil's dry humor or exquisite demonstrations.
We host five monthly events:
music starting at 1 p.m. each first Sunday, welcoming all performers and listeners to the circle sing/jam

needlework night at 7 each first Thursday
Second Thursday Of the Month Players, aka STOMP, offering
theatre games for all ages at 7 p.m
book club starting at 6:30 p.m. each third Thursday, hosted by Sue Vaughn.
You'll have grand fun bellowing along to show tunes, gospel, and rock and roll hits on Sunday, and there's no gentler company than the needleworkers who gather on Thursday. Writers, readers, and theatrical types come one come all to these special nights, and remember: What happens at STOMP, stays at STOMP!
