Scenario Contest Winner posted 02-23-06 08:50 EST (US) 2 / 9 Maybe I did not explain myself very well.First, I want to mention that Stronghold Crusader is one of my favorite games.
However, I am having trouble with Stronghold 2.I am having hard time producing enough resources and income, to a point that I cannot build much of an army.Games have taken too long for me, and I am in a stalemate with the AI.I am at a point that it is not fun for me to play Stronghold 2 anymore.I need to find a way to boost my economy via a mod or a cheat.Otherwise I cannot play Stronghold 2 anymore.Any help would be appreciated.[This message has been edited by MosheLevi (edited 02-23-2006 @ 08:51 AM).] CaptSkubba
Bishop (VIP) posted 02-23-06 08:59 EST (US) 3 / 9 I don't know how it is that you're playing the game, but you're one of the first ones I've seen to have said that you can't do it. Most others argue that some of the balancing is too easy! The main thing I would recommend is using alternative methods of setting up your economy. Little changes like where you lay your buildings etc can make a huge difference. Also, I think you'll find that the majority of forum members are very much against discussion of cheats/cracks within these forums. Why would they object that players use cheat codes against the AI.
After all I am not trying to cheat against another player.
Most games offer cheat codes to help players at the beginning, as they are learning the game.
Without cheat codes many players would give up too soon and sell their games on Ebay. When I started to play Stronghold Crusader it was also very hard for me at the beginning, but I used the setting where I get much more money at the start of the game.
That helped me a lot and a result I have played Stronghold Crusader for several hundreds of hours in the past two years. Now, I am having the same type of trouble with Stronghold 2, except that cannot find a way to have an advantage where I can play the game and get better. Is there anything you can suggest or can you point me to a nother web site that can help me?

Archer posted 02-23-06 15:38 EST (US) 5 / 9 We do ban discussions of cheating in multi-player but not for single player. But I think you'll find it is severely frowned on, even for single player, by most forumers here. That's certainly the case for me.I think you do yourself a great disservice by trying to rely on cheats, rather than concentrating on building your skills. They will tend to stunt your growth, so to speak, as a Stronghold player. They just aren't necessary. But you have taken one very positive step, which is asking for help here. We're all glad to give you advice on how to increase your playing skills.I assume you're probably playing Kingmaker. Have you tried the Path of War and Path of Peace campaigns? These are excellent learning grounds for most of the skills you need in Stronghold 2. Most of my advice that follows applies to most types of maps, and for SH2, SH1, and Crusader, even though it's directed specifically at SH2.Set up lots of woodcutters (sawpits) right away. Wood is the lifeblood of building up an economy. And if you start to build up surpluses you can usually sell those off for much needed gold.If you're having a tough time producing enough goods, set more peasants to work. Add production. In addition, as CaptSkubba said, your building layout can significantly effect production. Study worker pathways and habits, shorten their trips.I worry mostly about two areas, food and weapons. If possible I set my granary in an open area where it can be surrounded by farms (this is for SH2 only). If I have the time and space for wheat/bread I give that secondary position to apples, dairy and meat, as it's much more efficient. Get plenty of food production going. Produce or buy all four food groups. Always shoot for four food types and double rations. This will produce a lot of honor and give you a good start on taxes.Weapons workshops need to be near the stockpile and the armory (except for tanners). Keep everything very tight. Need more weapons? Create lots more workshops. From what I read, a lot of players don't set up nearly enough weapons production, especially for archers. You'll need other things, too. Royal food for feasts and honor. Inn and/or church, whatever it takes to get taxes to a -16. You'll need castle services too, for rats, gong and crime.Grab estates as soon as you can. Ten gold each per month like clockwork, it adds up.I would get your population up as high and as fast as you can. More workers for more industries equals more goods/weapons for better defense and more gold through sales of surpluses. Higher populations mean higher income from taxes. They always mean better production, more gold...and better defense. Enemies must get through all those peasants and buildings to get to your keep. Larger economies tend to be much more resilient after a nasty attack.DoY's infamous TREASURE ISLAND - Challenge #13 - Sparrow's Extreme Challenges for SH1 and Crusader Shawnis

While we are playing the game. Then build the apple orchard or wheat form or hops form or dairy form.then click one any of them.then press keyboard button game will pause now double click on it press again p keyboard button.do it many time so that more worker come to this building.
Hi when you make a stone quarry and put some oxes around it.It is so slow process but if you want to make it fastess then you should just do what I say. Make a stone quarry and wait for workers to go to run this building and when the workers start then make a wall around these stone quarry and make oxes in your castle like this picture link
To enable the cheats go to the 'Main' menu and hold the 'Ctrl' key and type 'triblade2002' (without the quotes). Then press the following keys during a game to enable the corresponding effect. There is no confirmation that cheats have been activated.
[Alt] + K: Build buildings without the resources they normally need. Hold 'Alt' and tap the K key once and very quickly, if you hold down the K key for even a short time you will cycle between activating and deactivating the cheat. Press [Alt] + K once more to deactivate the cheat.
To enable cheat mode to be able to enter the following codes go the Main menu and press Shift + Alt + A. Then during gameplay press and hold the following combinations to unlock the corresponding effect.
Some levels are indeed very hard, and this is mainly because there is little or no resources near you. To make the most of your limited resources, turn your wood into crossbows, then sell them, turn your iron into metal armour(is made quicker than swords or maces), and sell them. If you have stone, there isn't much you can with it, so sell it. And don't be afraid to spend 2000+ gold on soldiers at the beginning of hard levels. If you get a good hold on your defences, then you will be safe and won't suffer as much from enemy attcks.
A fairly hard level, but you are allied with the Lionheart, so there are some advantages. Put iron mines on every spot of iron there is south of you, and remember: an iron mine only needs 4 squares of iron to build on, so try and use this to place as many as you can in a limited space. Place square towers all along the north edge of your castle and equip them with ballistae, about 6 or 8 will do. Sell your iron for money and make sure you have lots of archers defending your farms from constant slave attacks: crossbowmen shoot too slowly. You can put some on your square towers to fend off the Caliph's swordsmen if they get too close, but your ballistae should get them while they are "camping" north of your castle. Use crossbowmen and pikemen/swordsmen to kill each Caliph, and start with the lower one. And be aware of pitch ditches around their bases.
Start building your south-west wall as quickly as you can, and don't be afraid to spend a lot of money at the beginning on crossbowmen. 20 of them will do. After you have a good hold on your defences, build ballistae on square towers. They will hassle the Pig's forces constantly. Counter his macemen with swordsmen, and don't let him take all the oasis for himself.
Can be difficult, but there are many resources on your side of the river, so take advantage of them!! And remember you only have to defend the ford west of you. Remember to use crossbowmen and ballistae on square towers.
Build towers as far south as you can to defend your farms and the large resource area in the middle of the map. Use crossbowmen, for they can kill the Rats's archers quickly, and kill their spearmen very quickly. Once you have a gold hold on your defences, start to fortify the resource area.
Use crossbowmen to fend off the Pigs's attacks, and build as many iron mines and quarries as you can around the resources south of you. Build your walls around them, and place towers all along your castle, including the sides: their macemen head for the sides and will break through if they go unnoticed.
Build your walls around the farmland, and use crossbowmen to defend against the Caliphs's attacks. Build ballistae on towers to hassle their castles. Eventually their economy will break down because your defences will be so close, they won't be able to get their workers past their gatehouses. Then pick off their archers, and attack with swordsmen. Easy.
Build walls between each of the gaps in the cliffs, and defend with bowmen. Build quarries on the stone west of you, and build a tower as far out as you can to defend them against slave attacks. Build ballistae to counter the Snakes's catapults, but don't be worried about them because they only use one in each of their attacks. Start with Lord Python, then go anti-clockwise and wipe the rest out.
