Hello,

I'm trying to model a lighting equipment Switch.

I'd like to represent the current state of On/Off.

I see there is an On_Off_Status and a Position_Sensor

I look at status as something an output device, like a load controller or a relay, would report. A light switch is an input device, just like an occupancy sensor.

I see 3 options:
1. create a On_Off_Sensor (preferred)
2. use the Position_Sensor (1=on, 0=off)
3. use the On_Off_Status

Thanks,
Chris

On_Of_Status should be able to model the state of the switch, per the documentation "Indicates the on/off status of a control loop, relay or equipment”.

There is also a Switch_Status introduced in 1.3 but the documentation is missing. (This may have the same intention as the On_Off_Sensor.)

Position_Sensor is more like an analog % value (e..g damper position usually given as percentage) and is not appropriate.
