Game 1 was full of highs and lows. Rip City quickly jumps out to an 11-point lead, stalls a bit for the remainder of the quarter, then inexplicably their #1 defense allows Marlboro to score 19 straight points in 4 and a half minutes in the second quarter. Not only did Rip give up the least amount of points in the regular season, but they were also the second-best scoring team -- so no lead is safe -- not even 21! Rip steadily chips at Marlboro's lead and with 3 minutes into the 4th, they cut their deficit to 1 point! Marlboro then decides to switch up some defensive matchups and starts to get some stops, holding Rip's high-powered offense to 99 points for the game. Marlboro escapes with a 112-99 win. LeVert and Middleton hurt the Pioneers by taking 37 shots combined and missing a whopping 29... Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 26.
