Its a pretty ugly thing all told, with a practically useless ground
level 'business enterprise centre' - lip service if ever there was one -
but above all to give over such a massive part of the area to a hardly
inhabited data centre seems shockingly wasteful, short termist and sad.
The reference number is PA/12/00090, with a further app, 91, just
amounting to the demolition of the existing wall.

i agree the waste of space is shocking, it is a huge footprint containing almost no human activity. the reason for this is that tower hamlets planners have not drawn up a masterplan for the truman site that lays down the preferred usage of the space. so this is what happens when there are no real guidelines.
perhaps someone can nonetheless find some valid planning reasons for refusal.
I am away at present and return march 1. I feel it's important to leaflet the area about this application, send to all the truman businesses and residents. would anyone be able to do something like that?
