Hi everyone,

I have watched with some horror at the two guys cutting the trees. I don't think they are 'tree surgeons'.. and they certainly didnt like me asking them questions.
I think the trees are protected, right?  One excuse might be that a couple of them appear to be diseased, but that does not excuse why the healthy majority are being butchered.

If you want to add to the complaints, here is the person to talk to at OTB.

and at the council  andrew.a...@towerhamlets.gov.uk

For Brick lane watch, the trees are the ones along the top of Woodseer st in the OTB carpark.

I thought there was one golden rule about pollarding trees: that you don't do it during the spring when the sap is rising.

Are they intentionally harming the trees?

Hi Sandy,  I asked the brewery many times over the last 18months to cut them back, I think the last time was feb before the new leaves were sprouting so I'm sorry if this is the wrong time. Obviously they arent trees surgeons then.

PS  I initially contacted the council at least 2 months ago; unfortunately my complaint was passed to 2 or 3 different departments... After the first OTB attempt at pruning I wrote a follow up and apparently a council officer who specialises in tree trimming was to check if it was being done properly- maybe the Council shd tell us what happened.
