Subject: Town Centrte Team Update

Dear all

Havent forgotten you and am still working the area on your behalf, just a brief update re licencing matters.

Several  weeks ago myself and PC Cruickshank (Licencing) had a meeting with a full LICENCING COMMITTEE (15 councillors)  to discuss the saturation policy and Street Drinking Zones. The committee have asked for further information,  council officials  and police are now preparing a presentation.   As part of the information sharing process I have invited any councillors that wish to come out on patrol with my team. The dates will be 6th MAY and or the 20th May.

I would envisage a walkabout in the brick lane area with visits to residents in order to gauge their thoughts and feelings.

At this time I don’t know how many councillors wish to attend, there were 15 on the committee. Dependant on numbers I would envisage splitting into small groups and meeting representaitves at different locations for perhaps an hour.

I will let you know how we progress with this but would ask that you make initial enquiries with your community members to see who would be able to participate.

I will update you as and when I have further information.

I am going on leave until 3rd May.

PC Cruickshank will lead on this in my absence.

Thnaks
