This is the new proposal for Bethnal Green Road opposite the new Shoreditch Station.

A key point is that all the affordable housing - a twin application - is being put on a cheap triangular site between two railway lines near the old Shoreditch Station. The tower would be filled with un-affordable apartments overshadowing the Boundary Estate, the oldest purpose-built council housing in England.

The formal consultation period for this development has now started. Here's a list of things you can do NOW to object. We need the maximum number of objections possible if we are to defeat this planning application.

1. Email Simon Ryan (simon...@towerhamlets.gov.uk) quoting reference PA/11/00460 and PA/11/00461 with your objections or send him the attached letter. The date for last objections is 19 April 2011 so don't delay!

Our local artists have made the attached poster, keep an eye out for it in the area and print off a copy and stick it up on your window/front door.

Please act to prevent this massive overdevelopment of the Huntingdon Estate which will fundamentally change the character of our neighbourhood.
