About a year and a half ago I was a featured guest at Cartoon Crossroads Columbus along with the likes of Art Speigelman, Jeff Smith, and Kate Beaton. To be honest, I’m not sure why they let me in, other than the fact that I live in town and they didn’t have to put me up in a hotel. However, I tried my hardest not to let them down. My features event was a Talk & Teach about drawing hands. I’ve spent a couple of decades getting good at drawing hands because I figured that if I could learn to draw them, not only could I draw characters well, but I also could develop the confidence to draw anything. I don’t know why it took me so long, but this weekend I remembered to check and see if they posted my talk on YouTube. It turns out they did—11 months ago. Better late than never! Here’s the talk. I hope you find it helpful. And you might see my parents in the audience. They like to sit up front at events. Not interested in watching the video? I worked out the presentation through a series of posts. You can check them out below, if you become a paid subscriber.
