Hi all,

In my model,

   dv / dt = [(siemens) * (volts) + (amperes)] / (farads).

Knowing that

1 ampere = 1 Coulomb / second

and

1 volt = 1 Coulomb / 1 farad

it seems to me that the units of dv / dt should be (volts / second).

However, brian2 only accepts (volts) as the units for this equation.

Can anyone explain this?

(As a side question, I've seen examples in the brian2 docs in which dv / dt is unitless.  How does that make sense?)

Many thanks,
Dan

Hi Daniel,

When you write dv/dt=...:u it means that the unit of v is u, not the
unit of dv/dt.
