Welcome to BRG Wednesday Regulars!
Rock climbing on Wednesday night at Central (formerly Boston) Rock Gym at Stoneham: Really, you don't have to be a regular, or even come at all on Wednesdays, but that's when we are most likely to be there. It's never necessary to post to ask who's showing up; there's always somebody there between 6 and 9 PM at least. We are continually pairing up and regrouping as people come and go, so the timing is casual. If you're new to CRG Stoneham, ask for us at the front desk when you check in.
Sunday morning at CRG Stoneham: Usually, at least a few of us are there between 10:30 and noontime on Sunday mornings, but many of us tend to go outdoors on weekends in the summertime, so it doesn't hurt to post to find out if anyone else is going.
Outdoor day trips: We also do day trips to Rumney, Farley, and Crow Hill, in season. Usually such trips are proposed a few days in advance by someone who intends to lead. It is not necessary to be able to lead outdoors to come along, or to bring more gear, but we do try to keep the ratio of leaders to non-leaders high enough that nobody has to wait to climb for very long. Climbs at these places may be toproped by someone without outdoor experience, which makes them good for groups such as ours with mixed levels of experience, but someone needs to lead the route in order to set it up.
Of course it should go without saying that all of these "events" are informal gatherings of friends, and participation is at your own risk. We try at all times to be safe and sensible -- because we want to come back next week!
