Hey everyone,

We recently pushed out some updates to the API and wanted to let you know what has been updated.
  • You can now filter on /beers with a hasLabels=Y option, to only return beers with labels attached to them
  • Similarly, you can filter on /breweries, /events and /guilds with a hasImages=Y option, to only return things with images attached to them
  • We fixed a bug in the [availability] structure for beers where the availabilityId that was nested in that object was coming back as a string.  It should have been an integer and that has now been corrected.
  • There are now endpoints to get a single random beer or brewery.  The endpoints are /beer/random (http://www.brewerydb.com/developers/docs-endpoint/beer_random) and /brewery/random (http://www.brewerydb.com/developers/docs-endpoint/brewery_random).
  • We added pagination, sorting and filtering to the /features endpoint.
  • For premium users utilizing web hooks, we have improved the reliability and consistency of the system.
  • Other various bug fixes.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Jason

With all of the new images filtering, I was curious if you guys could/would expose the "default" images you've developed for beers. That is, when a beer doesn't have an image, on your site it looks like you're using some combination of SRM, drink ware, style, etc... to determine a generic image to display. I would LOVE to be able to leverage that too. :)

Thoughts?

Hey Steve,

I can't say yes or no to your question at the moment, but we can add that to our (very long :-P) list of things to discuss internally.

Later!

To add on to what Garrison said, we also need to check on the license for those images.  We purchased the original glassware images so I'm not sure what our legal obligation is to the original owner.  We'll check it out and see what we can do.
