Hi everyone,
Sorry there haven't been any updates sooner, the last month or so has been very hectic for me as I'm sure it's been for many of you with the holidays and new year. Now that that's over, things have started moving again.
THE WEBSITE
If you haven't noticed the website is under construction. I'm working on building it into a useful information portal for us. Expect to see regular news updates and a calendar of events.
Anyone who fancies themselves a writer or journalist type who's interested in contributing to the website let me know.
THE PARTY
At last month's meeting we were given tons of great information from some of the state level people, Cathy and Bonnie. Almost to much. It can be intimidating to figure out where to start! I think the best thing to do is start by building some momentum. We need more bodies right now, I want to encourage everyone here to tell friend and family who may be interested about the Green Party. Get them to join this list, get them involved.
As we build our membership we also need to start getting organized. I need to look over the sample bylaws I've been given. I will post the digital ones here within a few days. I'm thinking we could have a get together at the end of January or early February to introduce new people, discuss bylaws, pick our co-chairs and officers and discuss anything else that people want to bring up. We need to start thinking about what issues we want to push, how we're going to get exposure, how were going to raise money and of course the 2010 election.
I'm going to be at the Space Cost Progressive Alliance Social tonight, It's at the Henegar Center in Downtown Melbourne at 6:30 PM. The talk will be about the impact of Urban Sprawl. It's open to the public. It would be cool to see some of you there.
