Good morning Brevard County Purchasers.
For those of you who are still using Vendorlink, I have a little Christmas gift for you. Vendorlink has agreed to provide Construct Connect with an account to access bidding documents whereas before they couldn't have an account since they are an aggregator
and reseller of data. If you are like me and tired of fielding constant records requests from this company, you should be very happy. Obviously, we can't control what comes through as a records request, but we can now remind Construct Connect that they can
have access to the system to get their own records.
While we can't legally 'refuse' a records request, providing them this portal access allows us to fulfill requests much faster. In many cases, directing a requester to a specific URL where the record is already hosted satisfies our 'good faith' obligation under
Chapter 119 without us having to manually pull and email files.
I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season.
PLEASE NOTE: Florida has a very broad public records law. Most written communications (including contents of emails and email addresses) to or from City of Cocoa officials and employees regarding public business are public records available to the public and
media upon request. Your written and e-mail communications may be subject to public disclosure. If you do not want your written and email communications released in response to a public records request, do not send written or email communications to City of
Cocoa officials and employees. Instead, contact this office by phone.
