On the subject of God's goals for us, I think Roger's sermon this
morning touched on this subject really well. Especially Micah 6:8 -
"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord
require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly
with your God." I think this sums up God's goals for us pretty well.
If we "walk humbly" with Him, then we are following the path He wants
us to follow. I think then we see things falling into place, like us
being holy as we are called to be in I Peter. We know that walking
with God will lead us to the eternal rest we are promised in Matthew.
And we will keep our focus on eternal things instead of earthly
things.

I like what Amanda said. I was reminded this weekend while
remembering the life of my grandmother, that life is not always easy
and we are not promised that. She lost her husband at a very early
age and was left to raise 3 kids alone. Although I did not know her
until much later obviously, I never heard her complain about the
struggles she was given. She lived everyday as a servant and always
put others first. She truely summed up Micah 6:8.

I love the verse we were given to read in Matthew about rest.
Although we are not promised an easy life with no troubles. We ARE
promised help as we make our way through this world. That is where
the comfort is.
