Lloydminster and the Mysterious Financier

It all comes back to the Mysterious Financier, and "The Hit"
considered the end of the summer in Ridgedale in 1996 for the search
for the Mysterious Financier. In early August "The Hit" had an
opportunity to get out of Ridgedale while avoiding the racing
Greyhound. Don was one of Healy's road construction workers from
Ridgedale, and he came to pick up a new tire for his Terex
Loadrunner. Healy's construction was working in Northeast
Saskatchewan in the Paradise Hill area, and Don was heading back to
work with his Chevy 1/2 Ton to the road construction crew. "The Hit"
hopped in the truck with Don on Sunday August 8 TH just after noon.
The tire filled the Chevy 1/2 Ton box, and the Terex tire very heavy
load for the half ton. "The Hit" was going to catch up to Harvey's
Run in Lloydminster after tagging along through St. Brieux, Humboldt,
Watrous, Ear Falls, Oxdrift, and Shaunavon. In Burnaby, "The Hit"
could not see the origin of the Mysterious Financier in Ridgedale in
the summer of 1976, and he was looking forward to preparing a
demonstration for David on the status of the Onlineglass-com project.

Murder Hepatitis C

Lloydminster and The Hell's Angels have seen the note during the
Philadelphia, Saskatoon, and Toronto trips before the package is lost.
They saw a conspiracy to commit murder by the Mysterious Financier.
They know an informant cannot conspire to commit murder or assault in
Canada. The Vancouver Police Department will answer one question from
the CBC, Vancouver Media, and the American Government. Did the
Mysterious Financier show them the note?

Murder The Hit

"The Hit" awoke on October 23, after he slept badly with the Black Van
driving by with occupant hollering at him from the alley. He mused
about what the Piccadilly Pub in Vancouver would do with Jimmy The
Junkie, Little Mike, and the Mysterious Financier. Meanwhile, "The
Hit's" testicles and abdomen hurt. He was always feeling sick from
the Hepatitis C. He did his best to continue with the Onlineglass-com
project. He booted up the computers and checked his email.
Independent Glass and UDI were still waiting for a response regarding
their invitation to fly to Philadelphia. He kept up on the auto
glass industry news, and he continued to populate the database. He
did more research on their businesses, and he checked Glasslinks posts
for any new industry developments. They were all complaining about
the claim processing situation, and there was the usual complaints
about insurance companies steering customers to shops which were
discounting 40 percent of NAGS. "The Hit" threw in the towel, and he
emailed his industry contacts that he should know if he was able to
travel by the beginning of next week. He took the rest of the day off
work, as he realized he could very well die because of the Hepatitis
C.

"The Hit" entered the washroom to find no one he knew, except their
was a woman in the men's cubicle screwing someone in the cubicle.
From the look of the feet in the cubicle, it looked like someone was
getting their pay for their performance. He was not sure which of the
gang from Clavet was on top of the situation, however someone was
getting their pay. "The Hit" just used the urinal and he went back to
his table. The band finished their first set, and a man walked in
with a suit. "The Hit" could remember funerals where the priest had a
thurible suspended from chains. The old Catholic tradition has a
altar server known as a thurifer carrying the thurible. The thurifer
carries the thurible filled with charcoal and incense. Thurible comes
from the old French word thurible which is derived from the Latin term
thuribelum. Thuribelum has the Latin root of thur meaning incense.
Thur itself is an alteration of the Greek word thuos derived from the
Greek word thuein meaning sacrifice. The suit stunk up the place!

Vancouver Crime Stoppers

"The Hit" had always kept to himself during his youth. He had took a
calculated gamble, and he called Crime Stoppers to get information.
"The Hit" didn't any experience with Crime Stoppers in the past, so he
phoned them to see how they worked on October 26 TH 1997. Vancouver
Crime Stoppers told "The Hit" that he could tell them what he knew
over the phone, and he would get a report number. They told him he
would be paid if his report number produced results. "The Hit" told
Crime Stoppers that he would rather just send in a letter. Crime
Stoppers said that he could do that, however Crime Stoppers said he
would not get a reward if he mailed in the information. "The Hit"
said no problem because he did not want a reward. They gave him an
address to send the letter to at their offices. The combination of
the Piccadilly Pub letter, and his knowledge of Jimmy The Junkie and
his crew would not work to flush out the Mysterious Financier. The
brief communication etched in thousand of switches and binary bites
was the last contact Vancouver Crime Stoppers would ever have with
"The Hit".

In early March 1998, David had taken over dealings with Independent
Auto Glass, UDI, and the IGA. "The Hit" let Julia know that
Onlineglass-com was ready to try a Russian programmer on a part time
basis. "The Hit" was going to give a few pieces of code to test the
water in Russia. David's advisers found his explanation of the
project on the Onlineglass-com web site to be a good start, however
they felt that a more in depth business plan was necessary. He was
given the task of starting the first draft of the business plan, and
David's resources would work the business plan from his draft. David
suggested the business plan would bring in more investment, while
Mitchell was still guarding their NAGS part and pricing information in
the courts. There was a little voice in "The Hit's" head telling him
Mitchell would be making a move because Thompson International was
changing the focus of their company back to their core business. Then
the Clan from Clavet showed their hand one more time on Hastings
Street in Vancouver.

"The Hit" continued to cultivate his knowledge of the auto glass
industry in the popular forum Glasslinks. He followed the forum on a
daily basis to develop contacts in the auto glass industry. It was
apparent that the IGA could be the ticket to accessing about 1400
independent auto glass shops across the United States. The
independents saw insurance company steering and 40 % discounts on NAGS
pricing to be serious problems. In Burnaby "The Hit" worked his way
into Speedy Auto Glass by talking with Brian in their warehouse.
Brian referred him to Doug who was in charge of their IT department.
Doug did arrange a demo of the site with the management of Speedy to
review the project. They did find the project interesting, however
they did not make any commitments at this time. They did express
concerns about NAGS, and their need for NAGS in the warehouse.
Meanwhile, Mitchell was still protecting their market share by
guarding their proprietary rights to the part numbers.

Phoenix Sky Harbor

The walk through Phoenix Sky Harbor was timely in this passage, as
with the fall and winter solstice the skin gave away the origin of the
person. "The Hit" continued through Terminal 3 , one of the largest
and busiest airports in the state of Arizona. Terminal 4 was the
largest terminal handling 75% of the ninth busiest airport in the
United States. "The Hit" had been hazed and hunted for so long at
this point that he sensed he was being followed. While riding the
flat escalators through terminal three he over heard a few words. He
was being followed. He looked around to realize that there was skin
that was not of Arizona origin. "The Hit" is not a racist, but it's
the colour of the underlying tan in most complexions which can be
geared to the sun. Sure, many people might avoid the sun, but it
actually works remarkably well with the clothing. He was not good
enough to determine whether they came into the airport with him on his
Canadian Airlines flight. He would test them.

On Saturday night Bill and his wife picked "The Hit" up at the hotel
for dinner at a nearby Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon. They had
dinner, and they discussed the meeting before agreeing to go site
seeing on Saturday. They dropped "The Hit" off at the Westin, and
Bill was going to look into transferring "The Hit" from the Westin
Hotel on Fellowship Road to the Westin Hotel on Island Avenue near the
airport for his final night in Philadelphia. "The Hit" finally had a
few hours to himself on Saturday night to get some sleep. He would be
able to sleep until 11:00 hours on Sunday morning before Bill came by
to pick him up for a tour of the city on Sunday afternoon. The next
morning "The Hit" packed his bag after Bill phoned to let him know he
was able to arrange a transfer to the Westin Hotel on Island Avenue
for his last night in Philadelphia. Then, "The Hit" waited at the
entrance of the hotel with his bag after checking out of his room.
