Hi Book Clubbers.  I know we have all been busy getting kids ready for school, and some of us ready for college!  Do we have our next book selected?  I am assuming it is too late to do this Friday, and maybe the first week of school is crazy.

Can we meet in September?  Does anyone know if we have a book chosen?  I am anxious to get back to some routines and regular life.  Been a really lovely summer, but I am ready for the grind again.  Look forward to seeing everyone! -K

Rescue Me!  I have been reading Ken Follett all summer, need something more substantial.  I am up for September!

Karen don't you usually choose book and host first month? I will most likely be at Science camp in September so I'm out.

Celia said there were others who had not done a book yet, so I am waiting.  Who hasn't done a book in the last year?

I'm not sure who hasn't done a book yet. I too will be at Science Camp, so I won't be around either.

Was anyone waiting for me?  Alex, have you done a book?  Follett is advanced for me.  I regressed all of the way to Danielle Steele.

Jodie didn't do a book last year either, I don't think.  Ladies?

I propose our first meeting to be Sept 7.

LOL...

I am slugging my way through "One Amazing Thing" by Chirta Divakaruni.  However, if anyone has a better suggestion, I am happy to wait and do it another time.  Your thoughts...???

Would love to try to get back into the club this yr. However, September 7 is not a good day. I'll be traveling for a race. I'll keep my eyes open to see what date, book you pick. I usually read alongside the group. With you in spirit.

Nayeli we miss you but I'm always glad to talk about what we've read together.

Charlene, did you have a book pick?  Glad you spoke up.

I do love me some Chitra, but if you are slugging, Alex, does that mean it is slow going?

I feel like Chitra should be a really good book, I just have not put the energy into paying attention.  We should probably save it for later, I look forward to Charlene's pick.

I've got a couple of ideas let me know what you all think:

The Mother's Mite: Why Even Our Smallest Efforts Matter by DeAnne Flynn

Acceleration by Graham McNamee

Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell

After trying to read Outliers...I found myself skipping pages in the first chapter SO, I have decided on Acceleration.

I checked and there are about 10 copies available in the CC library system. (if you don't want to buy it)

Happy reading!  See everyone on 9/7.

This looks good.  I just realized I will be out of town on the 7th.  Going to Washington for a work/play event with a paint company I have a little paid gig with/writing about and promoting their products.  Sorry, I had wanted to host, won't be here.
