Ethernet connection not working"

·      On my 2TB B2 with most recent software version, I installed a M-F ethernet port adapter and connected directly to my router, but the router & B2 are not recognizing each other.  I followed all instructions in the B2 archive manual and can't find anything in the forums that address this.  Any clues for me?

one point have you run the get ethernet command while it was connected to wifi?
