I know I can update my BB1 with a Web Upgrade.  But where do I find the bTubeV8.tar.gz file for doing a USB Upgrade?

Good question Daniel. I don't have a BB1, but normally there should be a link.

Hi Guys,

I don't think that the 'btubeV8.tar.gz' files are provided on the website.  I only have one BB1  'image' file (14/10/2019) and two 'btubeV8.tar.gz' files (22/04/2020 and 26/06/2020) which were made available as USB files for some reason that I cannot remember.

@Paul; can the BB1 upgrade file be made available on the website?  They are useful for retrospective testing etc.

Regards,
Peter.

The BB1 Menu page makes reference to the bTubeV8.tar.gz file to be used for the USB Upgrade.  So the implication is clear that the file should be available.

Hi Guys,

It appears the last  'bTubeV8.tar.gz'  file available for download was 17th April 2020 - which added Bluetooth Out to the BB1. It can be updated after flashing the SD Card by doing a Web Upgrade.

I'll ask Martin to post a later version.

Where can I get the 17 Apr 2020 version?  Is there a link, please?

Hi Daniel

Below is a link to the BB1 17 April 2020 version.

Daniel, if you go to the latest software page on the Brennan web site and scroll back in the timeline, there is a "this file" link for the date 17th April 2020. Don't know if that is what you need?
Would be handy if updates were found under separate headings for the B2, B2B and BB1 versions.

Thank you both.  Both of those links worked.  Peter's link got me to the Apr.17,2020 version in zipped form.  And Leslie's link got me to the file in the form I'm used to.  But once the first was unzipped, they are identical.

I agree that it'd be nice to have a BB1 link provided for every new release.

Hi Daniel,

On further checking, the version that I sent to you is April 22 2020.  This contains a correction that Martin B made to the April 17 2020 version.  There was a problem in the April 17 version which had to be fixed.  Below is the updated release note.

"22nd April 2020
Updated the Bluetooth Out upgrade file below. The 17th April version sometimes did not present the upgrade bluetooth option in the Settings menu - it depended on your software history. If your Bluetooth out is working you don't need this. Follow the instructions below again to get today's code."

Regards,
Peter.

The zip file was labeled as 20200422.  When I unzipped it, the file was bit for bit identical to the other file that was downloaded from the link on the Latest Software page.  So apparently, Martin went back and updated the other copy, as well.

Hi Daniel,

That's useful to know.  I have just downloaded the 'April 17 2020' version and  looked inside the '/var/www' directory and it now shows the relevant files dated 'April 22 2020' so it has indeed been updated.

Regards,
Peter.
