I have an external USB DVD drive hooked to my B2.  Some CD's copy at a higher rate than others.  The ones that copy at the higher rate sometimes stall on the last song and won't complete for hours.  Has anyone else experienced this behavior?  Is there a fix that I'm unaware?  I have over 1700 CD's that I need to get loaded and this is slowing my progress tremendously.

Hi Lawton,

The B2 doesn't like CDs that include extra tracks such as videos, photos, etc. Do any of the troublesome CDs have extra tracks?

Do the CDs rip eventually or do you find that the last track does not get copied?

What software version is your B2 on?

Yes, I've experienced the B2 stalling before the end of a rip. Sometimes I noticed those albums had video tracks, usually not. I found it was less likely to happen and faster to rip when I added an external CD drive to the B2. I'd say it also helps to clean the underside of discs before ripping. About halfway through our CD collection I moved to ripping only on my laptop using dBpoweramp. That has a lot of benefits, but most relevant to this discussion is that the software will tell you if a track has errors. Conversely, it will confirm your rips are accurate. You can then skip any bad tracks but still have the rest of the album. The B2, of course, can't tell you, so I believe it just stops. Which is better than loading a corrupt file.
